Domenic Fino was born to be a farmer. His family has been farming in the Central Valley since the early 1900’s with his grandfather, Lorenzo Strambi farming wine grapes in Sanger, CA in 1920. In fact, his mom, Lorenza, and dad, Domenico purchased the ranch he currently farms organically, in 1962. His parents packed their own fruit the summer he was born and he began driving a tractor when he was six years old, which of course is now completely against current OSHA regulations!
Domenic and his wife, Lori live on the home ranch in a newer home, while mom, Lorenza still lives in the family home he grew up in. Their family is growing, as baby Lorenzo arrived just in time to attend this year’s summer harvest! Domenic was very active in FFA while attending High School and received his bachelors in International Ag at CSU Fresno. Domenic farms conventional wine grapes and almonds as well as the 50 acres of Organic Peaches and Plums he converted in 2010, on the home ranch.
“I enjoy being my own boss and being able to help nurture the crop along the way God intended it to grow” says Domenic. A new variety of Domenic’s is the Ivory Duchess Peach, as it has some subtle strawberry undertones to it. Something else will be new on the Fino home ranch this year, excitement builds as the next of the Fino generation makes its debut
