Concerned with the health and sustainability of their family and their land, the Boldts have always used good water and land stewardship practices. By converting to organic, the Boldts attain access to organic markets and more stable prices for their fruit. That sounds easy if it weren’t for the weeds. Since the Boldts are no loner using weed killers in their certified organic orchards they have some very impressive weeds. This reminds Dorothy of a story her great-grandfather told about choosing to buy the farm, back in 1913. “He said ‘if it has the best weeds, then I can grow anything.'” she said.”Well, it still has the best weeds!”

D. E. Boldt family farms makes every effort to deliver the best tasting and best looking tree fruit possible. Their fruit is harvested daily at peak maturity, fully ripened on the tree, and never removed from the individual picking boxes until it is packed at their farm using the latest equipment specially designed for gentleness. The fruit is packed with its natural wax coating (or bloom) intact and no chemicals are added. Their reputation has been built on this fact: “tree-ripe” is not just another marketing slogan, there is a distinct difference!

Most of their employees have worked for them for more than 10 years, so they are highly experienced in producing the quality fruit you expect from them, and it is a source of pride to them as well. They have an active safety program for their workers and are constantly working to make their jobs easier and more pleasant.
